RESILY PROJECT

From Waste to Sustainability: The Cycle That Makes a Difference

Resily is a project aimed at recovering and enhancing waste from the self-adhesive label supply chain, offering ecological, economic, and reputational benefits to companies that embrace a sustainable approach.

The name Resily, accompanied by a logo inspired by circularity, embodies the essence of this innovative project. Resily enables the recovery of silicone-coated paper backings, preventing them from ending up in landfills, and transforming them into new paper and new labels. This cyclical process makes the labels used in packaging more sustainable, applying to industries such as wine, food, and cosmetics. A significant benefit in a market where, according to a McKinsey survey, 79% of consumers consider sustainable packaging a key factor in their purchasing decisions.

How Resily Works: A Virtuous Partnership

The Resily project is made possible through the collaboration between LCI Lavorazione Carta Riciclata Italiana and Recos. Recos manages customer contracts, organizes collection and logistics, and delivers materials to recycling plants. LCI then processes these materials into recycled resources and sells them to paper mills for new paper production. This system ensures efficient waste management, particularly for silicone-coated liners and label scraps, reintegrating them into the production cycle. As a result, businesses such as wineries, food manufacturers, and cosmetics producers can enhance their sustainability and gain significant advantages.

The project’s claim, "The missing link in the Paper Cycle", highlights Resily's crucial role in completing the paper cycle, offering a model based on circular economy principles and effective recovery of label industry waste. "Resily is the ideal solution for reducing the environmental impact of waste generated during label production. In particular, waste materials such as silicone-coated liners and processing scraps are recovered and transformed into new resources, contributing to the production of new paper and labels, making the product life cycle truly circular. We are therefore thrilled to be part of this project, which drastically reduces waste and promotes the green economy," said Marco Silvestri, CEO of LCI.

The Benefits for Companies That Join the Project

Joining the Resily project means gaining access to significant opportunities:

  • 1. Sustainability Certificate: LCI issues a certificate demonstrating a company’s concrete commitment to sustainability, enhancing corporate reputation and ESG balance, which is increasingly relevant in the market and will soon become mandatory.
  • 2. Cost Savings on Materials: Companies can purchase recycled materials at competitive prices, reducing costs while adopting a more eco-friendly approach.

This dual advantage allows businesses to meet the growing demand for sustainable solutions while optimizing production costs with recycled materials. "For companies that use labels, sending waste for recycling is not just a step toward sustainability but an investment in the future. Transforming these materials into new resources is essential to reducing environmental impact and creating value. Collaborating with us means not only improving efficiency but also responding to the growing consumer demand for more responsible solutions. We are proud to be part of this important project, which ensures that label waste does not stop at disposal but transforms, regenerates, and contributes to a better world," said Elena Raminelli, CEO of Recos.
